Qantas Airways is the flag carrier of Australia with a century of aviation heritage. Qantas has built a reputation for safety, reliability, and high-quality service. In fact, Skytrax rated Qantas the best airline for Business Class in the Australia/Pacific region in 2024.

Qantas Business Class offers an ideal blend of luxury and peace of mind – from spacious lie-flat seats to attentive staff and a host of amenities tailored to make those 14+ hour flights as comfortable as possible. Below, we’ll explore what you can expect at the airport, in the air, and how AranGrant can assist in securing great deals and personalized support for your journey.

Airport experience

Premium treatment starts on the ground. At LAX and JFK, for example, Business Class travelers have special check-in lanes (often with little to no wait), and priority security clearance is offered where available. In Sydney and Melbourne, Qantas provides an Express Path for Business and First passengers – a fast-track lane through security and passport control. This means less time in line and more time to relax before your flight.

Lounge access: Business Class tickets include access to Qantas lounges or partner lounges at the airport. At Los Angeles International (LAX), you’ll enjoy the modern oneworld Business Lounge (operated jointly by Qantas and partners), featuring comfortable seating, hot meals, and even shower suites. In New York (JFK), Business travelers have access to the American Airlines Flagship℠ Lounge (as Qantas is an oneworld partner), offering buffet dining and quiet areas. Upon departure from Australia, you can unwind in Qantas’ own International Business Lounges in Sydney or Melbourne – stylish, tranquil spaces with barista-made coffee, gourmet dining by chef Neil Perry, and even spa-like shower facilities. These lounges are a haven for those who want to refresh, dine, or simply read in comfort before a long flight.

Service

Once onboard, Qantas’ cabin crew shine with professionalism and genuine Aussie warmth. Expect a personal welcome at your seat and assistance with storing your carry-on (a boon for those who shouldn’t lift heavy bags). Throughout the flight, the crew is attentive without being intrusive, addressing you by name and checking regularly if you need anything.

You can relax knowing you’ll be well cared for on your journey. And if you’re on an ultra-long flight (say, Dallas/Fort Worth to Sydney, nearly 17 hours), the crew will adapt the service pace to your preferences. Special touches like “welcome aboard” champagne or juice before takeoff are offered to all Business customers, setting a pleasant tone from the start.

Cabin & Seat

Qantas primarily operates the Airbus A380 superjumbo and the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner on its US-Australia routes, and both feature fully lie-flat seats in a 1-2-1 layout (every passenger gets direct aisle access).

Each Business Suite on the A380 and 787 reclines to a bed 80 inches long (6 feet 8 inches) – long enough for most people to stretch out comfortably. The seats are about 23–24 inches wide with adjustable cushioning and convert to a 24–25 inch wide sleeping surface when in bed mode.

On the refurbished A380s, the decor is elegant and subdued (earthy tones, charcoal and grey with woodgrain accents), which creates a calm environment. There’s also an onboard lounge area on the A380: a special nook where Business Class travelers can stand, stretch, and help themselves to snacks and drinks mid-flight. Dubbed the “Skybar,” this area (available on A380 flights) has bar-height counters and sofas – a nice place to chat with a travel companion or just relax.

The 787-9 Dreamliner Business cabin is smaller and intimate with 42 suites in total. Qantas’ 787 cabin, designed by renowned Australian designer David Caon, feels modern and sleek. The color palette uses subtle greys and deep reds, and every seat on the 787 also has direct aisle access in a 1-2-1 forward-facing layout.

Dreamliners are also built for passenger comfort: they feature lower cabin altitude and higher humidity, which can help you arrive feeling more refreshed, and larger dimmable windows that let you enjoy views or snooze in darkness at the touch of a button. Qantas’ 787s even have individual air vents at each seat – allowing you to adjust airflow to your liking.

Amenities & Facilities

  • Amenity kit & pajamas: Overnight flights come with a Koskela amenity pouch stocked with Australian skincare, eye mask, socks, and other essentials, plus take-home gray cotton PJs for true first-class comfort.
  • Noise-canceling headphones: High-quality headsets seal out cabin noise so you can enjoy movies or sleep in peace.
  • In-flight entertainment: A 16-inch touchscreen (A380 & 787) offers 1,500+ movies, TV shows, music, and games, all navigable by touch or remote.
  • Power & connectivity: Each seat features AC and USB outlets; fleet-wide high-speed Wi-Fi is rolling out, with an offline portal and print media available in the meantime.
  • Sleep extras: Lie-flat beds get a mattress topper on request, cabin mood-lighting eases jet lag, a “Do Not Disturb” option protects your rest, and a self-serve snack bar keeps refreshments flowing 24/7.

It’s clear Qantas has thought through the Business Class experience end-to-end, keeping passenger comfort – especially for older travelers – front and center.

Food & Beverages

Qantas treats Business Class dining like a restaurant experience. Menus are designed by celebrity chef Neil Perry, featuring multi-course meals with 3–4 mains such as grilled barramundi, grass-fed beef, or seasonal pasta. Dishes arrive on David Caon china with white linen and real silverware.

A somm-trained crew pours award-winning Australian wines—think Margaret River Chardonnay with fish or Barossa Shiraz with steak—plus top-shelf spirits, craft beers, soft drinks, and a welcome Champagne.

Snacks are available anytime: fruit, biscuits, chocolates, and, on the A380, a self-serve Skybar with espresso. Breakfast is customizable, coffee is barista-quality, and special-diet meals are pre-orderable. Expect Aussie touches like lamington cake or spanner crab, all included in your fare.

Nayeli was so patient and truly a godsend.

Nayeli was so patient and truly a godsend. She was super attentive and took the time to listen to all my concerns while booking a rushed flight for my father. She was polite and admirable in every aspect of customer service. She deserves a raise and a promotion for how well she settled all my issues and concerns. She is simply amazing.

Kevin is wonderful!

Kevin is wonderful! Although I am quite picky, he answered all my questions patiently and made this whole transaction smooth. My booking is still pending, however, I hope the rest of the process with AranGrant works the same way as dealing with Kevin.

Arangrant was excellent!

Arangrant was excellent! I booked a round trip to Florence, the guy I spoke with made everything go easy and was very patient, stayed on the phone when I didn’t know what information to fill out. He deserves to be promoted, by the way, his name is Bradley. Will definitely be booking again next time I take a trip.

After hours of searching through travel sites, I stopped at Arangrant.

After hours of searching through travel sites, I stopped at Arangrant, and I’m glad I did so. Amy asked relevant questions on my trip to the UK and came up with a great flight itinerary plus an inexpensive price. From now on, I will be dealing with Arangrant, and won’t be wasting my time on other booking agencies. All in all, great experience!!!

I’ve already planned my trip to Europe this winter. I know everything will be alright, as I’ve used Arangrant for my travel plans in the past. They always offer the best prices to Europe, and that’s what I like about them.

I found this website so simple and clear to understand! It’s nice to see a clean layout, without too much information that may get you confused. Other websites are too intricate for me to comprehend. Like it!
